In the 21 Century everybody is touched by cancer’s rancid and unforgiving tongue. This family are doing everything they can to help the victims themselves.
Enter Phoebe Kannisto and her six sons who all grow their hair and get it cut for cancer sufferers, reports the Huffington Post.
Phoebe, Andre, Silas, Emerson, Herbie, Reed, and Dexter, all grow their hair until it’s long enough to be donated to Children with Hair Loss, an organization that provides hair replacements for kids with medically related hair loss, then they get it cut.
Speaking to the Huffington Post, Kannisto said:
Three years ago, my friend lost her son to cancer. He was a twin and very close in age to my twins. On the first anniversary of his passing, my three oldest boys donated their hair in his memory.
Since their donation two years ago, our lives have continued to be touched by cancer. It’s everywhere. My boys want to help, and donating their hair is how they do it.
Just from joint haircut alone, this inspirational family donated 17 foot worth of hair – and they have no plans on stopping their donations any time soon.
Even better – Andre, Silas, Emerson, Herbie, Reed, and Dexter’s little sister, Marah Taylor, can’t wait to get donating when she’s old enough.
She watched in awe. [Her brothers] are great role models.
Keep up the great work guys!
