20-Year-Old Bone Cancer Victim Fulfilled Her Wish To ‘Die Beautiful’
A 20-year-old with bone cancer fulfilled her heartwrenching wish to ‘die beautiful,’ as she laid in her casket at her funeral.
Racine Pregunta, from Davao City, southern Philippines sadly passed away last week after her devastating battle with osteosarcoma.
Tragically the student knew the end was coming, so days before her death, she set about making plans for her funeral, Hungary Today reports.
Alongside the arrangements, her main heartbreaking wish was to ‘die beautiful,’ which was a reference to a Filipino film she admired.
Upsetting but strangely peaceful images have now emerged, showing Racine lying in a white coffin, with a white dress, floral wreath headband and made up with immaculate make-up.
Racine meticulously planned the whole funeral herself, with her last wishes granted by her family who supported her throughout her illness.
Just five days before she died, her sister Rolyn said Racine wished to ‘die beautiful,’ as a reference to the film Die Beautiful in which a transgender woman died while being crowned at a beauty pageant.
Racine – who had modelled in the past – had told her sister she wanted a ‘personal make-up artist,’ to create her desired look for her funeral.
Her sister Rolyn posted on Facebook:
Today, request fulfilled and there all I see is you, smiling.
On the way to the sunset, friends and family gathered and bid their last farewell to Racine who now sleeps beautifully forever. You will always remain in our hearts.
Such a sad story, but at least her final wish was fulfilled. RIP Racine and thoughts are with her family and friends.
