A bodybuilder has gone to extreme lengths to make sure every part of his body is tattooed – by wrapping his penis around a rolling pin to get his final inking.

Ray Houghton, 61, can now claim to have at least one tattoo on every body part after undergoing four hours of inking on his genitals.

He now boasts an impressive all-over ‘body suit’ of ink, which cost a total of £7,500 and required more than 240 hours of tattooing.

The bodybuilder from Manchester has been completing his transformation for the past two years and has now reached the end of his journey with the tattooing of his penis and testicles.

Ray, who now lives in Spain and owns his own gym, said he became addicted to getting inked after getting eight ’embarrassing’ tattoos covered up. He made the decision because he felt unable to show off his muscles because of the tattoos, which he got done during his time in the Royal Artillery as a teenager.

He said:

Those old tattoos were done when I was 17. They were disgusting. Now I’m proud to show my body off again and I can’t wait to show people my body in full. I love it.

None of the tattoos were really painful at all to have done, even this last one. I have wanted my penis done for three months but my normal tattooist wouldn’t do it. I wasn’t nervous, just excited to to finally get it done.

I feel complete when I look in the mirror now. It was the perfect Christmas present really.

The 61-year-old’s bid to reclaim his confidence soon turned into an obsession, and Ray made the decision to have his entire body tattooed to cover up his ‘ageing’ skin.

After his most recent tattoo on his genitals, the bodybuilder now says he feels complete and ’20 years younger’ than he did before.

He said:

I was so desperate to get it done. I didn’t like to look in the mirror and see my ageing skin. I like to look young. I hated seeing varicose veins and wrinkles. It’s horrible.

We used a rolling pin because that was the easiest way for the tattoo to be done. You can’t just do it on a bench or work top. It was quite weird at first but it made a lot of sense. It worked out perfect really.

But it wasn’t without complications as Ray’s testicles swelled up to ‘four times’ their normal size following the four hour tattoo procedure.

He said:

I don’t feel the pain anymore but the tattooist couldn’t believe I wanted to get such a sensitive area done. There was quite a bit of blood and it was uncomfortable to walk the next day.

But it all worked out okay and Ray says he now ‘feels like a celebrity’ when he walks down the street in Spain, as people constantly compliment him for the way he looks.

He said:

I had age spots and scars that I were ashamed of. But now I am proud to go along to the nudist beach. People tell me they can’t believe how good I look for my age.

I feel like a celebrity and I love people staring at me. I’ve been big all my life and as I got older people stopped telling me I looked good. But now I feel great again.

I did lose a lot of confidence and I began to feel like an old man. What people think of me is important to me.

Father of one Ray had the procedure done on Christmas Eve in the comfort of his gym – the Beach Body gym in Alicante – after searching for three months to find an artist willing to take on the work.

Now the only part of his body without a tattoo is the top of his head; his face, hands, feet, and bum are all covered in Maori-inspired designs.

Ray’s private parts have now fully healed and he is able to get on with his daily routines.
