Of all the noises you might want to hear during sex, the sound of something cracking isn’t one of them.

Unfortunately for 48-year-old Sean Marsden, this was the sickening sound which signalled he had fractured his penis while getting intimate with his girlfriend of six months, 36-year-old Louise Gray.

The couple had reportedly been doing it ‘doggy style’, and Sean accidentally slipped into Louise’s pelvic bone, causing his penis to ‘snap’ in the middle.

The painter and decorator was left writhing around in believable pain as his now bent member filled with blood, swelling to ‘the size of a bottle of wine’.

As reported by The Sun, poor Sean gave the following account of his ordeal:

I said to Louise straight away that something was wrong.

I grabbed hold of it and it just grew and grew. I didn’t think it was going to stop.

It went up to the size of a bottle of wine. It was beyond my control and scared me to death.

The pain was off the scale. It was really excruciating. It came in waves.

I could actually see where it had broken and snapped. I knew that I had to go to hospital.

A traumatised Louise rang for emergency services, and Sean was rushed to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital where he was given morphine for his agonising pain.

Surgeons conducted a ‘penile exploration’ on Sean, and were thankfully able to fix his penile fracture and repair his torn urethra.

After a night spent in the hospital, Sean was able to go home, unable to walk and accompanied by some very strong painkillers.

Medical staff wrapped Sean’s penis up in bandages and inserted a plastic rod down his shaft, right down to the base. This was to make sure Sean’s muscle would repair straight, and not leave his penis crooked.

The, usually very sexually active, couple were told to refrain from sexual activity for a month, and were understandably anxious about jumping back in the sack again.

Sean revealed:

At first I was convinced I’d never be able to have sex again. It made me feel sick.

Louise says she was scared of hurting me again. When it happened I was praying for it to stop.

The doctors said if I didn’t have the operation it could be deformed. It could have had a bend in it.

I am definitely going to be more careful in the future. We need to be more gentle because I can’t afford for that to happen again.

Louise was also understandably worried about getting close again:

Everything seemed ok but he did hurt himself the first time we had sex again.

Sean didn’t want to wait six weeks. It looked like the swelling had gone down and it looked like it had healed.

It was a scary thing to do but it’s a relief that he can still have sex. Obviously everything was working how it should.

Sadly, Sean and Louise now face the emotional pain of waiting to find out if Sean’s fertility has been affected by the accident.
