Everybody’s Making The Same Joke About Liam Payne’s ‘Gangster’ Transformation
Do we all remember the halcyon days of 2011 when One Direction were an annoying boy band who were dominating the charts?
Despite finishing third in 2010’s X-Factor mass media domination, and by God did it work, the band went on to win five Brit awards, three NME awards, two Kid’s Choice Awards and four MTV Video Music Awards.
Thankfully, their control over kids the world over was short-lived, and they went on to solo careers which will inevitably be less successful than their time together (except Harry, who was genuinely excellent in Dunkirk last year).
But now, as happens with most celebrities – think Miley Cyrus and Macauley Culkin – Liam Payne has undergone a massive image overhaul, and everyone is making the same joke.
The X Factor pretty boy is trying to take over the rap world, but he looks more like he’s dressed up as Ali G than Jay Z, and his rapping moniker sounds like something the comic character would come up with: Big Payno.
I don’t know about you, but that name is giving me a Big Paino.
He’s even stepped up his Insta game and now looks like a complete ‘baller’, though people can’t seem to take him seriously.
Things got so bad for the star that he had to delete an Instagram post in which he was bragging about his ‘jet’ life.
The caption on the now-deleted picture was:
You can only get jet lag from a jet the rest of y’all have got plane lag #NOF*CKS
Yup. Y’all read that right. In case you were wondering, Liam is from Wolverhampton.
People online are very keen to remind Mr Payne that he has a son now, while some are pointing out that he may well be having a mid-life crisis.
Perhaps the best way to encapsulate the way most people are feeling over this transformation is this incredible tweet:
Can someone please come and collect Liam Payne? He’s had a capri sun and he’s acting up to impress the year sevens again.
Liam has been bewildering fans for some time, though, not least of which was his bizarre performance on X Factor last year.
Apparently, seconds after he finished singing, he jumped off stage and headed towards the crowd where he grabbed Cheryl and ushered her out of the studio.
Viewers across the world were speechless, wondering what the heck was going on.
Even host Dermot O’Leary was left gobsmacked by the move, audibly saying: ‘Where’s he going?’
Liam is clearly just a guy who doesn’t play by the rules, a real Renaissance man. You can’t pin him down with your petty constructs, he lives the jet life, y’all.
