Model Who ‘Transitioned Into Black Woman’ Is Now A ‘Beautiful Baywatch Girl’
The German glamour model who made headlines last month for ‘transitioning into a black woman’ has just released a batch of new shots with her modelling as a ‘beautiful Baywatch girl’.
Martina Big, said she used tanning injections and a personal tanning bed because she wanted to look ‘African dark’.
But, seemingly not content with her internet notoriety, she has released a series of new images.
In the pictures she can be seen in the iconic red Baywatch swimsuit made famous by Pamela Anderson and co.
Martina had this to say on Facebook:
Already as a child I admired Pamela Anderson in the TV series Baywatch. Most people think the Baywatch girls are blonde and pale-skinned.
I think the comparative photos show that I’m now as a black woman also a very beautiful Baywatch girl.
This isn’t the first time Martina has posed in the Baywatch costume, though this is the first time since her ‘transition’.
The ex-air hostess announced that while the first time she stood there she had blonde hair and white skin, she now was ‘a black woman with African hair.’
In an interview on This Morning, she spoke of her fans’ reactions to the change:
At first, my fans were irritated, saying ‘why did you do this?!” but that is because they have never seen a white girl change her skin to African dark before.
But now, they have got used to it, they are excited like me. They say, ‘oh, I like your style! Go darker! Go darker!’
Yes, I have the skin of an African girl. But I am not pretending to be a black girl.
The 28-year-old’s behaviour has been criticised by the Race Equality Foundation.
They say that Martina has a ‘limited understanding’ of the challenges that face ethnic minority groups.
Jabeer Butt, Deputy Chief Executive of the REF, told The Sun:
It’s a very sad and disappointing situation really if people assume it’s just skin colour that makes you black.
She has a very limited understanding of what it means to be black or an ethnic minority today, and the challenges faced.
She has a very stilted understanding of what it means to be black – you have to worry about her and the people she surrounds herself with her.
Her story distracts from the problems black people are truly facing today.
Martina has been documenting her changes on social media, and has defended her choices, saying she is ‘following her heart and feelings’.
