A Danish photographer has come under fire after posting of photo that appears to show himself having sex with a woman on top of the Great Pyramid of Giza.
Andreas Hvid posted the photo to his website, while he also shared a video of himself and the unidentified female accomplice climbing the pyramid, smoking while there, and apparently taking their clothes off too.
Authorities in Egypt are now investigating the incident, after the photo and video were reported to the prosecutor general by the minister for antiquities, according to Ahram Online.

Along with the video, Andreas wrote:
In late November 2018, a friend and I climbed the Great Pyramid of Giza (a.k.a. Pyramid of Khufu, Pyramid of Cheops).
Fearing to be spotted by the many guards, I did not film the several hours of sneaking around at the Giza Plateau, which lead up to the climb.
While tourists are allowed inside the Pyramids, they are limited to paths set out. Climbing the Pyramids outside the designated routes and paths is strictly prohibited.
However, it wasn’t just the video of Andreas and his partner climbing the structure that offended Egyptian authorities.
The photographer also posted a picture to his website that appeared to show the pair having sex on top of the Pyramid, too.

Andreas describes what he does as ‘Urban Exploration, Nude Art, Travel Stuff’. However, some people don’t agree, and see his recent actions on top of the ancient Pyramid in Giza as offensive and disrespectful.
One person commented:
On behalf of historians and archaeologists everywhere, I hope you both end up in jail.
In my opinion the nude stuff is very disrespectful and ignorant.
A third simply commented:
Shame. lack of respect for an ancient civilization.
after thousands of years of evolution, some idiots have chosen to revert to an animal image that does not respect history or culture or those who welcomed them in their country
Others, however, applauded Andreas and his actions.
One person wrote:
I’ll admit, as a fellow Adventurer I am jealous – not many people can say they have been to the top of the great pyramids…
& your Nude Art shots are Strikingly Beautiful.
I’m Egyptian & I envy You XD probably I’ll live my whole life and never got a chance to climb on top of the Pyramids watching my town from above !
A third commented:
Anyone who is offended by this video, I am still waiting your argument on why this is so wrong.
The Great Pyramid of Giza is the largest and oldest of the three pyramids in Giza, and is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Historians believe the pyramid was finished around 2560 BCE, and was constructed over a 10 to 20 year period. It is thought the Great Pyramid was built as a tomb for the Fourth Dynasty Egyptian pharaoh Khufu.
