What do you do when you hear things go bump in the night?

Call the Ghostbusters? No, they’re just a work of fiction, unfortunately. How about calling a psychic medium? On second thoughts, maybe you’re better off with the Ghostbusters. In the case of Rusty Johnson, his way of dealing with paranormal occurrences in his flat is to record them.

You know, most people would just leave their humble abode once they learn it’s haunted by an evil spirit, or call a witch doctor  – usually an Auntie – to drive them out. But not good old Rusty. No, he wants the whole world to know ghosts exist and they’re living in his apartment.

Ghosts love to create a mess, don’t they?

Looking for evidence to prove ghosts exist is a difficult one. What exactly constitutes as a ghost? Create a bit of mess and you just say a ‘ghost did that’, people will find it hard to believe. On the flip side of that argument, maybe ghosts do exist and the majority of them are just clean and respectful.

Who knows? That’s just a batsh*t conspiracy pulled from the deepest depths of my mind, Alex Jones-worthy if you ask me.

But I digress. Since last year Rusty, who is from Fayetteville, North Carolina, has been documenting the comings and goings of a creepy poltergeist in his flat.

In December 2016, Rusty decided to film a bizarre incident in his kitchen which saw cups, papers and other household appliances mysteriously falling out of place.

Rusty, who has been dealing with paranormal activity in his flat for some time now, says:

I came home to find a few things out of place and decided to review the footage.

It scared the absolute hell out of me watching it, I was probably being paranoid, but it felt like I could feel someone or something looking at me.

I’m seriously considering breaking my lease to move.

Rusty started 2017 with another creepy encounter, after he heard banging coming from somewhere within his flat.

I mean at this point you should just get the hell out:

He said:

I had a terrifying wake up to start the new year. After having my place blessed and cleansed Thursday and it had been quiet the last few days. I actually felt comfortable for the first time in a while, but it didn’t last long. I was woken up this morning from something I heard and so I got my phone out to record and I would say today things went to another level.

I felt threatened. I immediately packed a few clothes grabbed my essentials, and left. I’m staying at a hotel, at least for tonight, and then I’m going to just try and make it to the end of this month. I’ll be moving out in February, so hopefully I’ll be able to put this experience behind me soon.

I can’t explain what’s going on, but I can tell you that this scares the hell out of me. I’m past the point of trying to get rid of it, or trying to understand it. I just want to get through this next month and forget this and never have to deal with it again. [sic]

Damn Rusty, I hope you’re not living there anymore… unless you want your life to be turned into a horror film ‘based on real events’.
