A US pastor, who has previously made videos wishing death on gay people, has claimed that God created the deadly wildfires in California to punish the state for accepting gay people.

Disgracefully homophobic Kevin Swanson has a long history of making anti-LGBTQ+ statements, last year claiming Hurricane Harvey was a ‘punishment’ from God for Texas rejecting an anti-trans law and that public schools will turn kids into ‘transgender communist’.

The delusional religious figure has links to Republican Senator Ted Cruz who appeared on stage with him at the National Religious Liberties Conference in Iowa just hours after he called for the execution of homosexuals at the very same podium.

The objective, scientific, and evidence-based reason for the wildfires is climate change.

Most experts have agreed that the ferocity of the wildfires, which have so far killed seven people, is down to the temperature in California reaching records of 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

Climate scientists predicted the blistering heat and fires more than a decade ago, and due to global warming, California is looking at a future with worsening floods and wildfires.

The Carr fire is one of the most destructive in the state’s history, destroying more than 1000 homes, bringing ‘fire season’ forward, according to Cal Fire Director Ken Pimlott.

He said at a news conference:

Fire season is really just beginning. What seems like we should be in the peak of fire season, historically, is really now the kind of conditions we’re seeing really at the beginning.

Naturally, the religious pastor is overlooking facts and science in favour of using the environmental tragedy for his own ideological gains.

Kevin Swanson, from Colorado, spoke about his radical and prejudice reason for the fires on his radio program.

According to Pink News, he began speaking about how California has a history of ‘legitimising the sin of homosexuality:

If you look at the history of California, they have been at the forefront of this.

The first gay pride march occurred in San Francisco in 1970 and then San Francisco legitimized homosexuality in 1972. In 1982, Laguna Beach, California, elected the first openly homosexual mayor in United States history. In 1999, California adopted a domestic partnership law; I believe it was one of the first in the nation to do that.

He continued his rant:

In 2005, California state legislators became the first in the nation to pass a same-sex marriage law … In 2008, the California Supreme Court then struck down Prop 22 in regard to marriage cases, and Prop 8 also was struck down later on that year, I believe.

In 2011, California became the first state to mandate homosexual indoctrination for K-8 students and then, in 2012, California became the first state to sign a ban on therapy that was attempting to convert homosexuals into non-homosexuals.

And then, in 2017, the California state schools implemented the homosexual indoctrination program … and that was the kickoff for the biggest fires that California has ever seen in its history.

So God is burning down California in 2017 and 2018 after about 25 years of leading the pack to legitimise the sin of homosexuality in that state.

This is also the guy who said that God may destroy America after the release of the film The Shape of Water.

Apparently he was fuming because it promoted ‘cross-species mating’. If God is as intelligent as they say, I’m sure he’ll see the many layers of creative expression and work that were put into the fictional motion picture.

British comedian Ricky Gervais shared the article about Kevin Swanson’s remarks about the fires, captioned simply ‘Stupid C*nt’.
