Is there a better way to spend Christmas than in a glass igloo under the beautiful Northern Lights in Lapland? I don’t think there is…
Levin Iglut Golden Crown, a family business, has 24 individual glass igloos to offer you the chance to see the spectacular Aurora Borealis, surrounded by glistening white snow.
There are two types of accommodation – Premium and Superior – a Premium Igloo will set you back around $472 per night (£358), while the the Superior Igloo starts at $390 per night (£295).
The igloos feature electric heated ‘non-fogging glass’ and air conditioning, as well as a small kitchen, shower and a toilet.
They also have Wi-Fi, so you can upload photos and videos to your social media to make probably everybody on your friends list jealous!
Did I mention the motorised beds – which can be adjusted to the desired position for watching the Northern Lights?
The Premium igloos are situated in a ‘prime location’ on the side of the fell complete with an ‘unobstructed view of the valley’. Sounds incredible to me.
The Levin Iglut Golden Crown website says:
It was born from one man’s dream and began with four luxury-level glass igloos.
Now it boasts a total of 24 glass igloos that are supplemented by the services of a high-quality restaurant and the Northern Lights House, which can also host events.
Everything we do is still based on warm, personalised service.
The venue has received widespread praise on review site TripAdvisor, where is has a 4.5 average score out of five.

Stayed one night here on the 5th March and it was worth every penny.
The igloo itself is like the Tardis. Deceivingly small on the outside but very roomy on the inside. It was specified to a high standard and the electrically operated bed made star gassing a very comfortable experience indeed.
The igloo village is set out in such a way that you could get one that is on the second row and has views of other igloos. we were lucky and had one with an uninterrupted view of the land below. (It’s set half way up Levi fell).
We saw the lights and stayed awake long in to the early hours watching them. Something you just can’t do without the comfort and warmth of the igloo.

In all our holidays this was one of the most memorable and unique holiday experiences we have had.
The igloos themselves were great, a large size and super warm to help with the -22 weather outside!
We were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the northern lights on our last night and it was magical to lie in bed and watch them plus the starry sky from the comfort of our igloo.
Both nights of our stay we had dinner at the Aurora Sky restaurant which served great food in an intimate setting.
Overall, this was the nicest room we have ever stayed in on a holiday. The surroundings were perfect to make us relax and enjoy the scenery. Thanks to all of the lovely staff for making our stay so memorable!
