Dolly Parton Reveals That She Starts Her Day At 3am

We all thought Dolly Parton worked 9-5, but she actually gets up at 3am every morning

We all thought Dolly Parton worked 9-5, but she actually gets up at 3.00am every morning.

Your average working person tumbles out of bed and stumbles to the kitchen at around 7.30am. They pour themselves a cup of ambition, yawn and stretch and try to come life.

After jumping in the shower and their blood starts pumping, they'll be out on the street and the traffic will start jumping. For Parton, most people will still be in their bed when she's up and about.

In a new interview with Insider, Parton revealed her early rise and discussed how she doesn't need as much sleep as some people.

She said: "I don't need a whole lot of sleep. I go to bed pretty early, but even if I've been up late – it's just kind of like a little clock inside of me that says, 'It's 3 o'clock!'

"I do some of my best work there, but I get enough sleep. I don't require as much sleep as a lot of other people do, that's kind of a Parton family trait."

The country singer explained how it comes from her dad, Robert Lee Parton. "I'm like my daddy. He was always up early, even if he had to go to bed late," she said.

"I don't do any big rituals with my skin or anything, and I don't think you have to pay a ton of money to have good products. Most of the products that cost less are just as good, and sometimes better than the ones that cost a fortune."

Parton credits her good skin to not sunbathing when she was younger. "I never got out in the sun. I don't have a lot of the same problems that women my age do 'cause I never baked myself in the sun," she explained.

"I would've if I'd been able to tan but I couldn't, so now I'm glad."

If we're talking about morning routines, Parton's 3.00am rise may be surprising, but it's nothing on Mark Wahlberg's day of madness.

His day starts half an hour earlier at 2.30am. Between then and 8.00am, he prays, eats breakfast, does his first workout, has a post-workout meal, goes for a 90-minute shower, plays golf for 30 minutes and then has a snack.

His day concludes at 7:30pm, squeezing in family time, another workout, other snacks and work-related matters.
