Eminem Gave Elton John A Present For Him And His Partner To ‘Enjoy’

During an interview on The Graham Norton show Sir Elton John revealed Eminem once gifted him something which disproves allegations the rapper is homophobic.

When an iconic artist gives a present to a fellow icon you know its not just going to be any random gift. After all they’re probably filthy rich, with an abundance in wealth, as proven by the expensive penis jewellery given by the Detroit rapper to Elton and his husband David Furnish.

That’s right, Eminem gave Sir Elton a pair of diamond-encrusted cock rings to celebrate his and David Furnish’s civil partnership in 2005.

While most would be mortified about receiving such an unusual gift from a friend, Elton fully embraced it. Never one to shy about his private life, he revealed:

When David [Furnish] and I did our civil partnership, I got this package from Eminem. It shows you how homophobic he isn’t.

It had two diamond-encrusted cock rings on velvet cushions. I have to say, they have remained unused!

The revelation came about when host Graham Norton was asking fellow guest Pink about her work with the controversial rapper, who features on her new album Beautiful Trauma.

She told Norton, her fellow guests Elton, Stephen Fry and Carey Mulligan, and the audience how she really loved him and always wanted to work with him, eventually asking him to help her get her ‘Rap Grammy’. Basically she sent a long-winded email where she gushed over him in order to get an exclusive collaboration.

He of course responded in the most ‘Eminem-way’ possible… by simply saying ‘okay’.

Afterwards Stephen Fry asked Elton if he had a hand in changing Eminem’s perceived views on the LBGTQ+ community. While Eminem is a celebrated hip-hop artist, highly regarded in – and outside – the genre, his career has not been without controversy, which he at times courted.

His lyrical skills were dampened by the fact he used it with homophobic content, especially on the magnum opus that is The Marshall Mathers LP.

Fry asked Elton if he had influence on helping Slim Shady change some of his ‘less politically correct’ views. He replied by saying:

He was accused of being homophobic by so many people because of his lyrics, which I thought was nonsense.

I came out and supported the fact that he isn’t [homophobic] and I appeared on the Grammys with him, doing Stan, instead of Dido.

We became friends. We’ve been amazing friends ever since. He’s an amazing guy. I interviewed him last week for a magazine.

It was quite a poignant moment in Em’s career as it came at time when LBGTQ+ rights groups were protesting against the rapper’s Grammy performance and the fact that he’d be doing it alongside such a icon in their community.

While it would be sometime before Eminem would calm down on using said derogatory content so liberally, it did show growth and understanding at such an pivotal moment in his life.
