Justin Bieber has dropped a defamation lawsuit against two Twitter users who accused him of sexual assault.
In June 2020, the Canadian singer vehemently denied 'factually impossible' sexual assault allegations brought forward by two social media users.
Named only as Danielle and Kadi, they alleged that Bieber sexually assaulted them in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

In a tweet following the allegations, Bieber wrote: "Every claim of sexual abuse should be taken very seriously and this is why my response was needed.
"However this story is factually impossible and that is why I will be working with twitter and authorities to take legal action."
The musician described the accusations as 'outrageous lies' that were 'probably fabricated', and he also shared screenshots of receipts and hotel bills for the nights of the alleged assaults.

Lawyers for Bieber have since filed a request for dismissal in Los Angeles County Superior Court, reports NBC News. The court documents didn't reveal if the lawsuit was dropped due to Bieber and the defendants reaching a settlement.
Evan Spiegel, an attorney for Bieber, said: "Justin has decided to move on and dismiss the case for defamation filed in 2020."
The $20 million (£15m) lawsuit claimed the users "fraudulently schemed to seek attention and fame by maliciously posting despicable, blatantly false, fabricated, defamatory accusations that Justin Bieber engaged in sexual assault."

"It is abundantly clear that these two individuals are trying to capitalise on the climate of fear permeating the entertainment industry," it added, saying Bieber had 'indisputable documentary evidence' to disprove the plaintiff’s 'outrageous, fabricated lies'.
After the allegations were made, Bieber also wrote on Twitter: "Rumours are rumours but sexual abuse is something I don't take lightly. I wanted to speak out right away but out of respect to so many victims who deal with these issues daily I wanted to make sure I gathered the facts before I made any statement."
"I don’t normally address things as I have dealt with random accusations my entire career but after talking with my wife and team I have decided to speak up on an issue tonight," he continued, going onto share the screenshots and receipts.

The first allegation allegation came from a social media user who said she was assaulted at a hotel in Austin, Texas, on 9 March, 2014. The second alleged Bieber assaulted a woman at the Langham Hotel in New York in May 2015.
