Lil Nas X Urinates On His BET Award After Getting Snubbed For Last Year's Kiss

Lil Nas X has urinated on the BET award he won in 2019 for Old Town Road.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday (23 June), Lil Nas shared the artwork for his new single, Late To Da Party, which showed his BET gong stuffed down a toilet under a flow of his own urine.

At last year’s BET Awards, Lil Nas famously kissed his male backup dancer while performing, a move the 23-year-old rapper suggested was behind his BET snub this year when he wrote in a since-deleted tweet shared earlier this month: “i just feel like black gay ppl have to fight to be seen in this world and even when we make it to the top mfs try to pretend we are invisible.”

Late To Da Party dropped earlier this month and in the music video, Lil Nas chants ‘f**k BET’ while draped in a rainbow Pride flag.

The award-winning rapper was understandably peeved that his 2021 album Montero didn’t receive any nominations, considering it packs two number one singles, Montero (Call Me By Your Name) and Industry Baby, plus also received rave reviews from critics.

When this year’s BET Awards nominations dropped, Lil Nas tweeted: “Thank you bet awards. An outstanding zero nominations again. black excellence!”

The star’s tweet has since been deleted, as has one in which he responded to a fan asking why he felt that he deserved a nomination.

When a social media user asked Lil Nas: “What have you put out?” he responded: “idk maybe 3 of the biggest songs of last year & a critically acclaimed album. i feel like that should’ve helped me a bit.”

On 7 June, Lil Nas elaborated on his comments, tweeting: “this not over no bet award this is about the bigger problem of homophobia in the black community, y’all can sit and pretend all u want but imma risk it all for us.”

When someone else pointed out that queer rappers Frank Ocean and Tyler the Creator had been nominated, Lil Nas replied: “love frank and tyler to death but can we admit queer men are more respected when they do less feminine things or am i making that up?”

Lil Nas also had the perfect response to a troll who tweeted him saying: “Or maybe your music sucks, idk.”

“ok cool i suck, my music is terrible, bad nas. now answer the question ‘are queer men are more respected when they do less feminine things’ yes or no?” Lil Nas fired back.

UNILAD has approached Lil Nas X’s representatives for comment.
