Snoop Dogg shares tribute to his ‘protector’ Dr. Dre at Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony

Dr. Dre was surrounded by fellow rap icons at his Hollywood Walk of Fame award ceremony.

Snoop Dogg's tribute to Dr. Dre receiving a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame has viewers in all the feels.

Eminem and Snoop may have had their differences, but after Dr. Dre - real name Andre Romell Young - suffered from an aneurism in 2021, the pair reconciled and have since been spotted supporting their friend at Hollywood's Walk of Fame on 19 March.

All the rap legends - including 50 Cent too - rallied around the record producer and rapper while he received his star, Snoop - real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. - even taking to the podium to say a few touching words in tribute to Dre. Prepare to feel a tug at your heartstrings:

It's not the first time so many of the legendary rappers have all been seen coming together for a pretty monumental occasion.

Back in 2022, Eminem joined forces with Dre, Snoop and 50 Cent, alongside Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

The performance was hailed 'the greatest Super Bowl Halftime show ever' and Snoop's speech for Dre at the ceremony for the 59-year-old being awarded a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame has since been similarly described as 'one of the best speeches ever'.

Snoop got up to the podium on Hollywood Boulevard to reflect how 'over 30 years later,' he and Dre are 'still on the grind in the studio'.

"And you still make me do every line 100 m***********g times," he joked. "Still."

Snoop went on to thank Dre for 'being a perfectionist' and for 'always pushing' him to 'be great'.

Calling Dr Dre his 'teacher, mentor, brother, guardian, protector, and most importantly a good friend', the rapper said: "You always bring out the best of the Dogg, Dr. Dre and that I do appreciate. There would be no Snoop without Dre.

"Together we created magic in the studio and our collaborations have left a mark on the world of music. From intro to endo, our partnership has been legendary."

Snoop resolved: "Dre, the m***********g doctor. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor and welcome to my m***********g neighborhood."

And it's not taken long for people to flood to social media to weigh in on Snoop's speech.

One X user wrote: "NO GUSHIN'"

"Snoop got his own f**king hilarious style, his message was deep. We all need a snoop in life," another added.

A third commented: "Wow! That was so sweet and deep."

"Hot fire! Still Dre. My whole teen/adult life these two have been on top. Dre Day! Snoop will never fall off," a fourth wrote.

And a final resolved: "One of the best speeches ever."
