Usher brings out 'best' surprise guests for epic Super Bowl halftime show

Some huge names appeared alongside Usher

As expected, Usher brought out some big names for his Super Bowl halftime show.

It was confirmed back in September that Usher would be this year's headliner in what the 45-year-old dubbed as 'an honor of a lifetime'.

"It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before," the 'Burn' singer said in a statement at the time.

"Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon."

Ahead of his big performance, people speculated who Usher might bring out with him and noted the stars he has collaborated with over the years.

Some of the names thrown out there included 21 Savage, Jungkook and Pitbull and, while these guesses weren't right, many people hit the nail on the head elsewhere.

One person that was suggested was Alicia Keys, and she was the first star he brought on stage with him. The pair performed their 2004 song 'My Boo' together.

Singer-songwriter H.E.R also joined Usher and dazzled the crowd with an epic guitar solo.

And, of course, Ludacris and Lil Jon made an appearance. The two rappers featured on Usher's track 'Yeah!' - a fan favorite for many.

And football fans have since gone wild for the celebrity guests.

"Usher suprised the world with an actual good halftime performance. Alicia Keys gotta be the best guest OAT," raved one person.

"Yasssssssssss HER with the guitar solo!!!!!!!!" said another excited fan.

A third tweeted: "Lil Jon is HERE!"

"Usher and Alicia Keys light up the halftime show with electrifying performances, proving once again why they're music royalty," a different viewer continued.

Meanwhile, others have gushed about Usher's performance as a whole.

One person wrote on social media: "Usher did his thing! The best one [since] the Snoop halftime show."

Another added: "Nothing negative can be said about Ushers performance!"

Echoing similar sentiments, a different Super Bowl viewer said: "Usher is THE male voice and performer of my generation. I could have used 10 more minutes of that concert!"

Speaking ahead of his performance, Usher admitted that it was difficult to squeeze three decades worth of music into such a short show.

"It’s been a challenge to squeeze 30 years into 13 minutes," he told reporters earlier this week.
