Red Hot Chili Peppers Fan 'Fuming' After Buying Tickets For Cover Band Red Not Chili Peppers

A Red Hot Chili Peppers fan in the US was left 'fuming' when he realised he'd accidentally bought tickets for cover band, Red Not Chili Peppers.

Aaron, who has not disclosed his surname (presumably due to embarrassment), is a huge fan of the Chilis, so when he saw an ad for what appeared to be an intimate - and cheap - local gig, he jumped at the opportunity.

The advert, which he came across on social media, was for a show at the Magic Bag in Ferndale, Michigan, which has a capacity of 400 people.

RHCP have been about for decades, selling out stadiums across the globe, so it might seem a little daft that Aaron thought they'd be rocking up at the Magic Bag.

However, the fan said he thought it was in keeping with the way they've been promoting their recently released 12th album, Unlimited Love.

"The way they were promoting the record that just came out, they were doing smaller venues out west, doing little record stores, free shows, things like that," Aaron told Detroit Metro Times.

"I was like, 'Oh my god, maybe I'm lucky'."

Excited Aaron immediately snapped up four tickets, which were priced at under $20 (£16) each.

It was only when he got the confirmation email that he realised the error of his ways.

Aaron - who clarified that he was 'completely sober' when he bought the tickets - then sharply shifted from ecstasy to red hot rage.

He said: "It's like the same spelling, just one letter. It's kind of like slick advertising, basically.

"I'm fuming."

Aaron said he contacted vendor Ticketweb to get a refund and two days later he was told he couldn't have one. When he asked to speak to a manager they repeated the same message - due to company policy, they could not offer a refund.

Pretty surprising they even have a policy for such a situation, to be honest.

LADbible has contacted Ticketweb for comment.

Now the dust has settled - and he's accepted he can't get a refund - Aaron might just go along to the show tonight (Thursday 28 April) and check out the Red Not Chili Peppers, who one critic described as being 'as close as it gets to the real thing'.

Aaron said: "I'm just gonna let it go, man. I'm not tripping about it.

"I mean, I'd probably go. Sure."

Well, I suppose if you've got a ticket you may as well go - or give it away.
