Selena Gomez says she felt ashamed to pose naked on the front cover of her Revival album back in 2015.

The Wizards of Waverly Place actor was chatting alongside Tracee Ellis Ross, Amy Schumer, Quinta Brunson and Bridget Everett on The Hollywood Reporter's roundtable, which premiered a few days ago.

Schumer, 41, who will star alongside Gomez in the second season of Only Murders in the Building, claimed that Gomez, 29, 'was sexualised at such a young age'.

She said: "But you’ve just rejected that and have really found your own style and your own presence. Because I know they put you through a system and make you feel like this is how you have to do it.”

“It’s really unfair,” Selena responded.

“I actually did an album cover and I was really ashamed after I did it.”

Referring to her 2015 album cover, she added: “I had to work through those feelings because I realised it was attached to something deeper that was going on.

“It was a choice that I wasn’t necessarily happy that I made, but I think that I’ve done my best, at least I try to be myself.

“And I’m not an overly sexual person. Sometimes I like to feel sexy, but that doesn’t mean it’s for somebody else. It can be for me.”

Following the success of the first season of Only Murders in the Building, which has scored a mega 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, the second season has already received 100 percent from critics.

For those unaware, the synopsis for the show reads: "Three strangers share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth.

"Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another. Soon, the endangered trio comes to realize a killer might be living among them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it's too late."

Created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman, the series stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Aaron Dominguez and Amy Ryan.

Season 2 of Only Murders in the Building will premier on Hulu on 28 June.
