Stormzy’s duet with Ed Sheeran on this year’s mind-numbingly shit edition of the BRITS was arguably the highlight of the night.
Stormzy shot to fame in minutes with the smash release of his freestyle rap, ‘Shut Up’, back in 2o15 followed by his recently released album Gang Signs and Prayer.
Once the shining star of London’s grime scene I think after his recent appearence on Sunday Brunch we can now safely claim that Stormzy is 100 per cent mainstream.
In the immediate aftermath of the 23-year-old’s appearence at the BRITS on Friday night he mysteriously posted a mobile phone number to his Twitter page urging fans to give him a call and let them know their name and location.
But what bag of treats did Stormzy have up his sleeve when people actually rang? We gave him a call to find out (unfortunately it wasn’t as spectacular as some had hoped).
When you dial the number tweeted an automated message is read out by Stormzy thanking his fans for all their support.
The message goes:
Yo, what’s going on, you’re through to Stormzy.
I just want to say thank you. Massive love. Thank you for supporting the album, Gang Signs & Prayer, out now. I hope you’re enjoying it. I just want to say thank you for all your support, it’s been incredible. I love you all, thank you.
Give it a go yourselves!
