Amber Heard has responded to claims she was ‘acting’ in testimony she gave during her court battle with Johnny Depp.
Heard was asked by the Today Show’s Savannah Guthrie: “In the closing arguments, the Depp lawyer called your testimony ‘the performance of a lifetime’ and said you were acting. What do you say to that?”

Heard responded: “Says the lawyer for the man who convinced the world he had scissors for fingers? ...I listened to weeks of testimony [saying] I'm a terrible actress. I'm a bit confused how I could be both.”

Heard was speaking during a special Today Show interview, which will be released in full later this week, you can see it on Tuesday, June 14 and Wednesday, June 15 on NBC's TODAY and Friday, June 17 on Dateline NBC 8.00pm/7.00pm CT.
She also spoke about the 'horrible' things she did in the relationship, but said she 'always told the truth':
Although the 36-year-old star has shared statements about the trial online, this new sit-down interview marks the first time she has spoken in depth about the verdict.

Elsewhere in her interview with Guthrie, Heard said she 'doesn't blame' the jury, but called the negative social media attention she received 'unfair'.
"I don’t blame them,” Heard shared. “I actually understand. He’s a beloved character and people feel they know him. He’s a fantastic actor."
Following her and Depp’s highly-publicised defamation trial, Heard was ordered by the US court to award Depp $15 million in damages over domestic abuse claims she made in a 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post.
These charges were later capped at $10.35 million by Judge Penny Azcarate, and in a separate verdict Heard was awarded $2 million in damages via a counterclaim.

Discussing the negative social media attention she received as the court case unfolded, Heard told Guthrie: "I don’t care what one thinks about me or what judgments you want to make about what happened in the privacy of my own home, in my marriage, behind closed doors.
"I don’t presume the average person should know those things. And so I don’t take it personally.
"But even somebody who is sure I’m deserving of all this hate and vitriol, even if you think that I’m lying, you still couldn’t look me in the eye and tell me that you think on social media there’s been a fair representation.
"You cannot tell me that you think that this has been fair."
