American Wife Puzzled By British Husband's 'Really Weird' Morning Habit
It's safe to say there are a lot of cultural differences between the UK and our friends across the pond. But one woman may have highlighted one of the biggest divides thanks to her British husband and his 'really weird' morning habit.
From cutlery etiquette to calling ice blocks 'ice lollies', Chloe's videos have well and truly set the internet alight with various debates between Brits and Americans.
However, one 'really weird' difference has left Chloe completely baffled. 'Hello and welcome back to British husband TikTok. So, my British husband does something that is really weird, and I want to know if this is like, a normal British thing,' she began.
Chloe proceeded to question whether it was 'normal' that her husband puts 'his pyjamas behind his pillow' in the morning. I for one can vouch for this man: it most definitely is normal – there's nothing better than getting ready for bed and your PJs are folded and ready under your pillow. Also, where is everyone else keeping them?
Safe to say, she's been inundated with opinions on the subject, with many assuring her this is a very normal habit in the UK. 'I thought the whole world did this. Where else would you put them?' one person asked, while another wrote, 'I do this too, from Scotland. it's so they're not in the wash coz they're not dirty but not in the drawers coz they're not clean.'
Others joked that anything is better than him chucking them on the floor – 'do not complain about this, my very British boyfriend just leaves them on the floor for me to put behind his pillow,' commented one person.
Although, it appears not everyone in the UK is familiar with the habit either, with one puzzled user writing, 'Eh? I’m from the UK and I have never heard of anyone doing this?!'. Some Aussies also weighed in, saying they too pop their PJs under their pillow every morning.
The majority seem to agree this is a very normal thing to do, and given the clip now has over one million views, maybe others will get on board too.
