Travelling can be stressful at the very best of times, but one plane passenger lost their shit for pretty much no reason whatsoever…

An angry passenger attacked a stewardess on a United Airlines flight from New York to Chicago on Thursday night, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing in Detroit so she could be apprehended.

According to passenger Matthew Goldgraben, the agitated woman involved in the incident came and sat down next to him. A few minutes later, flight attendants came around to hand out drinks and one of the stewardesses accidentally spilled a drink.

No-one knows if she had drink spilt on her, but the woman snapped and started screaming and attacking the flight attendant. Things escalated pretty quickly.

Goldgraben told WXYZ that the woman had her hands around the flight attendant’s throat, ripped off her necklace and scratched her face- before a few passengers intervened and forced the violent passenger to the ground.

The pilot then took action and diverted the plane to Detroit, Michigan, where police then boarded the plane and arrested the upset woman.

Video has captured the moment when she was carried off the plane, with officers holding her legs and carrying her upper body.

According to NBC New York, the woman may have been suffering from a medical condition.

Other passengers injured by the woman during the flight plan to press charges.
