The quasi-organised hacktivist group Anonymous has released an update on World War 3 in their typical dramatic fashion, that’s right it’s a YouTube video.
In the video a masked man lists the recent geopolitical goings on one after the other in an attempt to create the narrative of a looming global conflict.
Anonymous argue that there’s a ‘brutal and quick’ war brewing on the Korean peninsular between America and China which will have global repercussions and plunge the world into World War 3.
They claim that while the Chinese don’t want a war, as it’ll be economically devastating for them, the Kim regime in North Korea serves as a buffer preventing the U.S. from exerting it’s influence over the Korean peninsular.
To that end they believe that China would potentially go to war to prevent the U.S. gaining anymore influence in Asia and that surrounding countries such as Japan and Australia are already preparing for an imminent war.
But while all this sounds very frightening Anonymous can’t help but admit that as things currently stand war seems unlikely due to China asking North Korea and the U.S. to negotiate things peacefully.
Way to bury the lead Anonymous…
What do you think, do Anonymous have a point?
More of a concept than a journalist, Tom Percival was forged in the bowels of Salford University from which he emerged grasping a Masters in journalism.
Since then his rise has been described by himself as ‘meteoric’ rising to the esteemed rank of Social Editor at UNILAD as well as working at the BBC, Manchester Evening News, and ITV.
He credits his success to three core techniques, name repetition, personality mirroring, and never breaking off a handshake.
