Get out of your bomb shelter and carry on with your daily lives- as it looks like Armageddon isn’t happening just yet.
North Korea once again proved that they have a long way to go before their nuclear capabilities can be a major threat to the rest of the world after yet another failed ballistic missile test.
After all this investment in their military arms (at the expense of their starving citizens), you’d think they’d be quite good at building rockets by now – but apparently not.
According to South Korean and U.S military officials the missile exploded shortly after take-off, in their second failed launch in the past fortnight, the BBC reports.
U.S. officials told Reuters that they believed the missile was a medium-range type known as KN-17.
President of the United States, Donald Trump, decided to comment on the rising tensions on Twitter, because apparently that’s how international diplomacy is done nowadays.
North Korea disrespected the wishes of China & its highly respected President when it launched, though unsuccessfully, a missile today. Bad!

He condemned the regime and said it was ‘disrespecting the wishes of China’.
The failed launch came just hours after the United Nations Security Council debated North Korea’s missile programme.
But how do you solve a problem like North Korea? Well Trump’s Secretary of State Rex Tillerson called for tougher sanctions on the secretive state, but also opened up the possibility of talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Whatever is decided by the powers that be, it’s clear we need an international effort to quash the possibility of all out war and maybe the nuclear disarmament of larger states could be the solution. Just a thought.
And then who knows, we might all make it through 2017 if we’re lucky.
