Hello Dave! Yes, that’s right, the weird and wonderful League Of Gentlemen is going to make a return to our screens later this year and we cannot wait.

The three League of Gentlemen series ran between 1999 and 2002, which means it has been 15 whole years since we were last in the creepy village of Royston Vasey.

Writers – Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton, Reece Shearsmith and Jeremy Dyson – will all return for three special episodes of which follows the lives of some bizarre and crazy locals.

Three episodes have been commissioned for Autumn 2017 and they will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the show’s debut on radio.

Revealing the decision earlier, The Mirror reported Pemberton as saying:

As it gets closer to a 20 year anniversary, and that’s coming up, we will want to mark that in some way.

I think there is still an appetite for it, people still remember it, we are all still great mates and I see no reason why not. We won’t rush it, it’s something we want to go get it right.

And in other news, BBC also confirmed the return of Alan Partridge – could this day get any better?

Earlier this year, Steve Coogan revealed Partridge would be returning to the BBC for a new series.

He told BBC One’s The One Show in June:

Alan will be back on the BBC early next year, there will be a lot of Alan on TV next year.

I’m trying to do a leak to the press about it. He’ll just be back on a show, it might be a bit like this. I’m here to do research.

Naturally, everybody is excited about League of Gentlemen and Partridge all the same…

… you’ll never leave.
