Beyonce And Jay-Z Release Dates For Their Joint Tour

UK dates for Beyonce and Jay-Z’s On The Run II tour have been announced and will officially go on sale on March 23.

Tickets for the highly anticipated joint are expected to sell out as the music industry power couple are set to perform in Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester and London. Pre-sale for tickets go live on March 14.

Dates for the shows were announced in a promotional video which was posted on Beyonce’s Instagram page. Even before the dates were announced fans were speculating the two were planning a joint tour after a listing was posted on Ticketmaster and on Beyonce’s Facebook page last Tuesday – both of which were quickly deleted.

However, it’s now been officially confirmed that Jay and Bey are hitting the road again. The UK portion of the tour will kick off in Cardiff at Principality Stadium on June 6, followed by Hampden Park in Glasgow on 9th, and a show in Manchester at the Etihad Stadium on 13th. They round off the UK portion of their tour at the London Stadium on June 15.

Beyonce and Jay-Z’s last joint tour On The Run was back in 2014, however they didn’t visit the UK, hence why the newly announced tour is a big deal for fans of both artists.

The UK dates will kickstart the On The Run II tour, where they will play across 15 different cities across the here and Europe. Afterwards, they’ll be starting their 21-date North American tour on July 25.

In the last two years both Beyonce and Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) released seminal albums, both of which were deeply personal, liberating (and different ways) and displayed their growth as artists.

In 2016 Beyonce released the critically acclaimed Lemonade, coming out in the aftermath of the infamous elevator fight between her sister Solange and her husband. It touch on topics such as female (and black) empowerment, Black Lives Matter and Jay’s own infidelity.

2017 saw the release of Jay-Z’s 4:44, which is probably his best album since The Black Album (although American Gangster was pretty close). It looked at his personal growth as an artist – from being a newcomer to the game (with his classic 1996 debut Reasonable Doubt) to where he is now as one of the elder statesmen of hip-hop culture. He also gives his own unique analysis of being a black man in America today, the importance of financial responsibility and his own infidelity.
