Body Pulled From River Believed To Be From London Bridge Terror Attack

Police have found the body of French tourist Xavier Thomas in the River Thames.

45-year-old Thomas has been missing since the London Bridge terrorist attack.

A police statement reads:

On Tuesday, 6 June at approximately 19:44hours the body of a man was recovered from the river, near Limehouse, by specialist officers from the Marine Police Unit.

Formal identification has not yet taken place, however Mr. Thomas’ next of kin have been informed of this development.

The French national was crossing the bridge with his girlfriend Christine Delcros on Saturday night when he is believed to have been knocked down at the start of the rampage.

The couple had been visiting the city for the weekend, and Ms Delcros remains in hospital where she is being treated for her injuries.

At around 22.08 Saturday evening a van, travelling at ‘about 50mph’ mowed down pedestrians at London Bridge and witnesses reported hearing ‘tremendous gunfire’.

The three attackers were shot dead by armed police, seven people were killed, and about 48 others were injured.
