A bomb has been found in delivery to Bill and Hillary Clinton’s house in Westchester County.

A package containing a suspected explosive device was discovered ‘in the vicinity of the Clinton residence in Chappaqua’, about 25 miles north of New York City, the FBI tweeted.

The device was discovered today, Wednesday, October 24, at 1am (ET).

Apparently a similar device was found on Monday, October 22, at the home of billionaire philanthropist George Soros, who also lives in Westchester County. Soros is a staunch Democrat, who has been highly critical of current president Donald Trump, TMZ reports.

The package at Soros’ house was found in his mailbox, no one was hurt. According to NBC, an employee noticed the package, put it in a wooded area and alerted the FBI. A law enforcement source reportedly said the package contained explosive powder, and was detonated by professionals as a precaution.

Reports are also suggesting a similar package, addressed to former president Barack Obama, was intercepted by Secret Service staff in Washington DC today.

So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the devices, which officials have said are similar to a pipe bomb.

The FBI is working with police to determine the origin of the packages.

Federal authorities have reportedly said they believe the same person, or people, sent the packages to Soros and the Clintons, but have not said whether the one sent to Obama is connected.

According to a statement from the US Secret Service, the package was addressed to Hillary Clinton.

In statement, as per BBC, they said:

Early this morning, October 24, 2018, a second package addressed to the residence of Former President Barack Obama was intercepted by Secret Service personnel in Washington, DC.

Both packages were intercepted prior to being delivered to their intended location. The protectees did not receive the packages nor were they at risk of receiving them.

On Tuesday, October 23, Soros’ foundation – The Open Society Foundation – released a statement which condemned ‘the politics of hate that dominates our discourse today’.

It said:

In this climate of fear, falsehoods, and rising authoritarianism, just voicing your views can draw death threats.

George Soros deplores violence of any kind, and urges politicians across the political spectrum to tone down their rhetoric. Words have consequences, and we bear a collective responsibility to create a more civil way to discuss our political differences. Respect for a diversity of opinions is fundamental to open society and that is the work that George Soros has devoted his life to. Our politics should be more about what we’re for than who we hate.

George Soros is well known for his donations to liberal causes, and is often the subject of ridicule from those on the right.

White House officials have said Trump has been briefed on the situation, and they are taking the situation ‘extremely seriously’.
