Britney Spears sparks concern after posting bizarre video telling fans ‘not to call the cops’

Britney Spears has told her fans not to call the police if she deactivates her Instagram account in her latest post.

In the clip, the 41-year-old appeared to put on an unusual accent as she showed off a couple of new dresses with her 41.7 million followers. You can see the clip here:

Speaking into the camera, Spears said: “OK, great news. OK, so last week guys I made a dress. I was really proud. [It had] a diamond panel, slip in the back [and] a girlfriend helped me sew it.”

Holding up a pink dress, complete with crystal embellishment, she continued: “they sent me a dress I didn’t have to make myself. I can’t believe it. I’m just saying… I’m so proud and I didn’t have to make it myself.”

After thanking the company that sent her the dresses, Spears added: “So, guys, I just want you to know, if I shut down my Instagram, do not call the cops.”

She finished the clip by saying: “Never be a rollercoaster.”

Although Spears turned comments off on the video, on Twitter some fans have responded with concern over the video with one questioning 'what is going on?'

Last month, Spears released a statement on Twitter in which she said cops had arrived at her home after someone made ‘prank calls’.

In the post from January 26, she wrote: “As everyone knows the police were called to my home based on some prank phone calls.

“I love and adore my fans but this time things were a little too far and my privacy was invaded.

“The police never entered my home and when they came to my gate they quickly realised there was no issue and left immediately.

“This felt like I was being gaslit and bullied once the incident made it to the news and being portrayed once again in a poor and unfair light by the media.

“During this time in my life, I truly hope the public and my fans, who I care so much about, can respect my privacy moving forward. All the love, B.”

Spears has previously opted to close down - and later reactivate - her social media accounts in the past.

In December last year, Spears decided to take some time off-line, having previously closed her account the month prior, too; she also deactivated in October and in August and March.

Each time Spears made her return to the platform after just a few days.
