Bryan Cranston To Come Back As Walter White In Better Call Saul

America’s failed fictional schyster solicitor, Saul, might be getting a little visit from Heisenberg.

The Breaking Bad spin-off prequel is no stranger to cameos, having played host to Mike Ehrmantraut. Gus Fring, of fried chicken fame, will also be popping up in the third season of Better Call Saul.

But, this is the announcement we’ve all be waiting for: As the narratives come colliding closer together, Walter White himself may be concocting an appearance on the Albequerque set.

Before you get your hopes up – it looks like Bryan Cranston will be taking a behind the scenes role.

Asked whether he keeps in touch with Cranston, Bob Odenkirk told ShortList:

We don’t text all the time or hang out in bars, but I see him occasionally. He watches the show, he’s proud of it. There’s talk of him helping out soon, maybe directing an episode – we’d like to get him on board.

He added:

There are other characters from that show that are starting to appear, so that is super-exciting, and it raises our stakes, and it raises our game at Saul.

It’s just awesome, and I just envy the fans for the surprises that are coming this season. I guess as it comes closer to Breaking Bad, it’s going to happen more and more.

Cranston hasn’t shied away from the possibility of working with director, Vince Gilligan either, telling ScreenRant, ‘I’m all in’.

Cranston added the cameo would never just be lip service to fans, explaining:

I know how careful they are and proprietary they are with those characters and those storylines, and it wouldn’t be something, ‘Oh, isn’t that kind of a stunt casting kind of thing.’ It would be something kind of unique and obscure and creative…
