The body of one of the London Bridge attackers has been buried in secret with no mourners after a number of cemeteries refused to take it.
A relative of Khuram Butt, 27, drove the body to a graveyard near the family home in East London and he was buried with no ceremony.
According to the Mirror, the family were worried that a ceremony could be ‘too traumatic and draw negative attention’, so the killer’s friends were not notified of the burial.
A source told The Mirror:
The family are distraught with what he did but he is still their son and brother.
His mother is not in a good way health-wise after what has happened so it was decided she should not attend.
Khuram Butt, along with Rachid Redouane and Youssef Zaghba drove a van into pedestrians before stabbing innocent victims who were enjoying a night out in London’s Borough Market.
Eight people died and many others were hurt in the attack which took place on Saturday, June 3.
May the innocent victims rest in peace.
