Charles Manson Leaves Entire Estate To His Pen Pal

The entire estate of one of America’s most notorious serial killers, Charles Manson, has been left to one of his pen pals.

His friend, who he first met via a series of pen pal letters, was named the sole proprietor of all Manson’s belongings, in a will the murderous cult leader wrote back in February, 2002.

The pen pal – who wishes to remain anonymous – struck a friendship with Manson after he began writing to him in the 90s.

According to TMZ, they obtained a copy of Manson’s will which, despite being typed up, also bares some of his handwriting – this was compared to his handwriting from a previous written letter and they are convinced the document is the real deal.

Drawn up over 15 years ago, Manson’s will states he would leave behind all his personal effects, including cash, image rights and clothing, to his pen pal.

His anonymous friend will also obtain legal ownership of his ‘exclusive music catalogue’ – Manson always prided himself as a music connoisseur – and in one of the more ‘out there’ facts about the infamous cult leader, he wrote a song for The Beach Boys, ‘Cease To Exist’, which they recorded and ended up being, Never Learn Not to Love.

The aspiring folk singer-songwriter-turned-murderer made specific requests to deny his inheritance to his children, ex-wives, in-laws, lawyers, friends, prisoners, inmates, cops, guards, and the State of California.

Manson’s pen pal told TMZ he started writing to him back in the 90’s out of sheer curiosity over the man and after sending him 50 letters with no reply, received an out-of-the-blue letter from him in 1997.

From there, he claims the two struck up a friendship through written correspondence and later on, numerous phone calls.

In 2002 they finally met face-to-face, this was around the same time Manson drew up his will.

After their initial meeting the unknown friend claims he would visit Manson several times afterwards.

He also revealed he got a phone call from Manson on 21st October, just weeks before his death on Sunday 19th November.

The cruel patriarch of the so-called ‘Manson Family’ was convicted of the murder of actress Sharon Tate and six other people in Los Angeles in August 1969.

Manson and his followers are said to have committed these crimes in an attempt to kick start a race war which he coined the ‘Helter Skelter’ – a phrase he borrowed from The Beatles song of the same name.

Manson’s will notes he was:

… not in the best spot to rest in peace.

His will also reveals his body should be turned over to the pen pal, who intends to claim it.

However TMZ say if he fails to do it within 10 days after Manson’s death, the prison will cremate the body.
