I’m sure most of us remember the opening minutes of the original BioShock, and thanks to BioShock:The Collection, that iconic rain swept scene now looks better than ever.
Publisher 2K has released a brand new GamesCom trailer further highlighting the graphical improvements of the classic adventure, and have even provided some original footage for comparison – check it out.
As far as remasters go, this one is certainly looking the business. BioShock came out way back in 2007 after all, so a visual upgrade is most welcome.
Of course, the collection also includes BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite, but it makes sense that 2K would want to focus on their oldest (and arguably best) entry in the collection.
2K has also just announced the director commentary series ‘Imagining BioShock’, which can be unlocked by finding Golden Reels hidden throughout Rapture in the remastered version of the first BioShock.
You can see the newly released teaser for the first episode of that just below.
Collecting these golden reels throughout Rapture will get access to nearly two hours of director’s commentary, featuring Ken Levine, creative director on BioShock and BioShock Infinite, and Shawn Robertson, animation lead on BioShock and animation director on BioShock Infinite.
Of course, if you can’t be bothered to hunt for the reels yourself, you’ll be able to find all future episodes here as and when they’re released.
BioShock: The Collection comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 16, 2016.
