No Man’s Sky is finally here (seriously). Developer Hello Games and publisher Sony have even shared a cool new launch trailer to prove it.
The video shows off what you’ll be getting up to on your quest to travel to the center of the universe – by the looks of it, we’ll be seeing a whole lot of weird shit.
In case you’ve not been paying attention, No Man’s Sky is an ambitious indie project set in a procedurally generated universe of 18 quintillion planets.
The ‘aim’ of the game (if you insist on having one) is to survive and upgrade your gear and spaceship while heading to the center of the universe – for better or worse, the game has generated an insane amount of hype.
With release finally here, it’s likely that there will be gamers who leave disappointed after having projected their own huge expectations on to the game, while others are sure to be pleasantly surprised by the experience. Check out the launch trailer below.
While No Man’s Sky is now out on PlayStation 4, PC gamers will have to wait until August 12 before they can set out into the vast expanse of space.
In other No Man’s Sky related news, you can check out the UNILAD interview with Hello Games founder Sean Murray, where he explains the ins and outs of his colossal universe, as well as the studio’s future plans for the game.
Ewan Moore is a journalist at UNILAD Gaming who still quite hasn’t gotten out of his mid 00’s emo phase. After graduating from the University of Portsmouth in 2015 with a BA in Journalism & Media Studies (thanks for asking), he went on to do some freelance words for various places, including Kotaku, Den of Geek, and TheSixthAxis, before landing a full time gig at UNILAD in 2016.
