Final Fantasy XV finally arrives next month (November), meaning that Square Enix are all ready to get us in the mood for RPG action, big hair, and bigger dreams.
To do that, they’ve released a beautiful CG short film called Omen. It doesn’t give anything away surrounding the upcoming game, but rather aims to enrich that impending experience.
At 4-and-a-half minutes long, the short won’t take up too much of your time. It was also put together by Digic Pictures, the team that worked on recent Final Fantasy feature length effort Kingsglaive.
Square Enix describe the video as a ‘nightmare’ for Noctis, who is the main character of Final Fantasy XV. The titular Omen is shown to his father, King Regis – a vision of what might happen to the world (and it isn’t pretty).
The video’s description reads:
A rapidly shifting world, enemies that appear endlessly, gradual loss of abilities… And a madness that brings harm to the beloved fiancee.
Don’t be shy, check out the full short below.
Final Fantasy XV was meant to launch back in September, but a desire to avoid the need for any kind of day one patch meant Square Enix decided to push the hotly anticipated title back to November 29.
You’ll be able to play it on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, with an eventual PC release apparently being considered, but not confirmed at this stage.
