Proving he’s a superhero off the big screen as well as on it, actor Chris Pratt helped a young fan, who is suffering from a terminal illness complete his bucket list.

Bucket lists tend to be things we want to do or achieve in our lifetime, but sometimes life throws us a curve ball and it turns out time is a luxury we can no longer afford.

This in numerous cases leads to a person attempting to tick off as much possible on their list of things to do before they die.

It's easier said than done, which is why Star Lord himself, Pratt, decided to help 16-year-old Jacob Monday strike one off of his own bucket list.

Monday has been diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer and has 'recently decided to stop treatment' according to Pratt's Instagram post. Instead, the brave teenager from Upstate, New York has decided to focus on making the most of life.

One of his many goals 'is get a ton followers on Instagram' and Pratt was more than happy to help him out.

On his Instagram post, which included a photo with his new friend, he wrote:

Dear world,

This is my new pal Jacob Monday. @j8ke.monday He is a 16 year old kid from upstate New York with a unique and powerful story. He was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer. He recently decided to stop treatment and is currently checking things off his bucket list. Needless to say he and his family have been through a lot.

One of the things he wants to do is get a ton followers on Instagram. So follow his story for updates, and to help as he checks off items on his wish list! Show the love!!! Another thing he wanted besides meeting the star of his fav movie was to get his hair and makeup done! Ha!! Here we are living that glam life....

Jacob and I had fun chatting and kicking it for a few hours. Let’s see how many followers we can get him! #FollowJacobMonday

This week the Guardians of The Galaxy and Jurassic World was on Instagram trying to convince his 15.4 million followers ghosts do really exist. The former Parks and Recreation cast member posted freaky footage from his hotel in New York of his lamp moving all by itself.

We're pretty sure there's a perfectly good explanation for this alleged paranormal activity but if does turn out to be ghosts you can count us out. One person on Twitter suggested that his Marvel co-star Dave Bautista (aka Drax The Destroyer) was on the floor above him. Maybe he was practising some wrestling moves?

Chris Pratt will be reprising his role as Star Lord this month as he joins an all-star cast including Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Chadwick Boseman and Scarlett Johansson for the long-awaited Avengers: Infinity War which will in cinemas this April 26th.
