Chris Pratt Posts ‘Proof’ His Hotel Room Is Haunted

Actor and an all-around charming man with a distinguished chin Chris Pratt shared some freaky footage on his Instagram after he was convinced his hotel room was haunted.

When people report about cases regarding the paranormal it’s only natural to be sceptical. If 49 years worth of Scooby Doo has taught me anything it’s that there’s no such thing as ‘g-g-g-ghosts’.

Usually, these ‘otherworldly apparitions’ are concoctions of a disgruntled employee (usually a groundskeeper) who wants to get something shut down but ends up getting foiled thanks to the interference of some ‘meddling kids’. But why would someone one have it out for Chris Pratt – he’s just too damn nice. Maybe a bit too nice.

Pratt, who will be reprising his role as Star Lord in Marvel’s upcoming Avengers: Infinity War – I’m sure you’ve all got your calendars marked and your days booked off – posted footage from his hotel room in New York of his ceiling lamp moving.

Along with the footage, he also wrote:

So… I think I’m stayin in a haunted hotel room! Super cool. I think this lamp is moving. But also. I think maybe I’m just trippin. You be the judge. Is this lamp messin with me? Am I messin with you? Why everybody gotta be messin with everybody when we got ghosts running around willy nilly? Don’t seem right. #newyork

I have to admit it is quite freaky. His Hollywood pal Josh Gad was certainly worried for him as he urged him to ‘GET OUT!!!’ – where did he think he was staying? The Sunken Palace for Caucasian Male Actors?

While it is indeed abnormal activity to see your lamp just suddenly move on its own I’m pretty sure there’s a perfectly good explanation for it. Allow me to ‘get my Daphne on’.

As you can see the lamp is harnessed by four separate chains, while I’m sure it’s very secure it doesn’t mean it isn’t prone to the occasional sudden movement. Also, you need to consider sudden movements because it is suspended from the ceiling, you have to assume there are people above and their movements would cause a vibration which would then channel to the floor beneath it.

BOOM! I just punched a big gaping hole into Chris Pratt’s paranormal fears.

One person on Twitter even suggested that his Marvel co-star Dave Bautista (aka Drax The Destroyer) was on the floor above him. Maybe he was practising some wrestling moves?

However, if I’m wrong and it is a case of things going bump in the night, then I’ll hold my hands up and concede ghosts ‘may’ exist – I do need proof though. But don’t ask me to go with you to get it, I believe that should be a job for the Ghostbusters – or the guys over at Ghost Quest.

They spent the night in one of the UK’s most haunted houses and managed to capture one of the ghouls on camera…

As mentioned before, Chris Pratt will be on our screens this month as he joins an all-star cast including Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Chadwick Boseman and Scarlett Johansson for the long-awaited Avengers: Infinity War which will in cinemas this month.
