Man arrested for doing exactly what he was told

The father and son arrested by police officers in Texas ended up in handcuffs despite doing everything they were told to do.

Law enforcement is supposed to be on hand to catch the baddies, but when they start confusing law-abiding citizens for criminals is when things get tricky.

A police body cam filmed the moment a father and son were arrested for doing exactly what the officers asked them to do.

The pair were cuffed by two Texas police officers who didn’t seem to hold a lot of patience for the citizens they were supposed to protect - despite the pair seeming to do everything that was asked of them.

The footage filmed via an officer's body cams was shared on Reddit in 2020 and shows a police officer pulling over Dillon Puente on an improper right turn.

Sergeant Blake Shimanek apparently didn’t think that Puente could do right for doing wrong and seemingly loses it over everything he does - including what he's asking him to do.

The first strike? Puente rolling up his window as he opens the door - despite immediately stopping when asked to do so.

But when Dillon's father, Marco Puente, comes across the situation, Shimanek's mood really becomes tense.

Even when Marco continues to keep his distance and, like his son, do exactly what he's asked to do, the officer keeps escalating, asking Dillon 'why are you acting so suspicious' when he's putting the handcuffs on him.

He said: "You rolled your window up when I'm walking up for a routine traffic stop, 'aint nothing going on.

"You roll your window up, what does that look like to me?"

Despite following every instruction Shimanek gives him, he still ends up arrested.

While Dillon tries to explain that he was just rolling up his window, Shimanek tells another driver coming down the road to move along and continues with his power trip.

Little did he know that that other driver is Marco Puente, Dillon's dad, who almost immediately gets threatened with arrest for 'blocking the road'.

Marco goes ahead and pulls over in his car as he's told to do by the police and gets a camera on the cops arresting his son, which draws their attention.

Dillon's father is then pepper sprayed and arrested despite committing no crime.

Another officer then approaches Marco and goes to arrest him as he stands on the other side of the street filming the encounter.

Police proceed to drag him to the ground and grab for his phone to stop him filming, pepper spraying him for the non-existent crime of standing by the side of the road.

In the end, Marco sued the Texan city of Keller for the incident and was paid out a settlement of $200,000 in compensation.

It also turned out that police Sergeant Shimanek had previous incidents where his conduct had been called into question.

There was a 2016 incident where he went into a Texas home without a search warrant and in 2018, he said women shouldn't carry guns because they wouldn't be able to protect kids from a school shooting.

Shimanek was demoted, and later resigned.
