Ruby Franke’s son jokes about his mom in prison before she was sentenced to up to 30 years for child abuse

The son of Ruby Franke smiled as he made a TikTok joking ahead of his abusive mother's sentencing

Chad Franke, son of former 'mommy channel' YouTuber, Ruby Franke, danced with delight in video just days before his mother was sentenced to prison time for child abuse.

Ruby Franke, who once boasted over 2 million followers on YouTube providing parenting tips, has received a maximum of 30 years in prison for child abuse after making a 'concentration camp-like setting' for them to live in.

Ruby Franke, 42, plead guilty to four counts of child abuse in court and was sentenced to 15 years per count - up to 60 years total.

However, state law means that Franke can only serve a maximum of 30 years -

how much time she will spend behind bars will ultimately be determined by Utah Board of Pardons and Parole.

Last year the internet was shocked after hearing that the 'mommy influencer' was facing jail time after her one of the youngest of her six children broke free from the home and ran to a neighbours house, telling them of the abuse they were experiencing.

The 911 call soon went viral with the neighbour struggling to hold back tears, telling the operator 'this kid has obviously been detained, he's covered in wounds.'

Franke's abuse she inflicted on her children was 'some of the worst ever seen' according to Chief Deputy Washington County Attorney Ryan Shaum.

He said in a statement: "For over three months, the two children, ages 9 and 11-12, were held by their mother and her business partner in a concentration-camp setting."

Just days before Franke was sentenced, one of her six children, Chad Franke, released a video of himself smirking and dancing in a car.

In the dark-humoured, since-deleted TikTok taken by his girlfriend, a text overlay said 'GF: you'd love to meet my mum' while his girlfriend danced along.

The camera then panned to Chad, as the text changed to "BF: my moms in prison." All the while, Chad dancing along to the song with a smile.

The comments, while being supportive, seemed to run with Chad's dark humour, with one viewer writing: "Now who doesn’t have a door on their bathroom?"

He smiled as he made the joke about his mother.

Franke apologised to 'her little chicks' as she was sentenced, and told her husband, Brian Franke that 'he was the love of her life.'

She said: "I’m sorry to leave you to finish what we both started together. The ending of our marriage is a tragedy and you were wrapped around my heart."
