Video of 15-year-old confessing to murdering his own mother stuns viewers as he shows no remorse

Gregory Ramos was 15-years-old when he strangled his own mother to death after an argument over his school grades

Police footage showing a 15-year-old confess to the murder of his own mother has left viewers stunned over his lack of remorse.

On 2 November, 2018, a then 15-year-old Gregory Ramos got into a fight with his mother, Gail Cleavenger, over his school grades, which resulted in him strangling her to death.

The Florida teen proceeded to call two of his friends to help him bury her body and stage a robbery at his house.

After calling 911, Ramos told detectives that he had come home to discover that the house had been robbed, and alleged that his mom was missing but her van was still running in the driveway.

But after detectives spoke to his two friends and realised their stories weren't aligning to the one Ramos had initially told them, they soon got down to the sinister truth.

After being probed under police interrogation, Ramos eventually stopped with his lies and admitted the shocking truth.

Footage released by Volusia County Sheriff's Office has been shared online by true crime YouTube channel EXPLORE WITH US, and the chilling moment Ramos confessed to his brutal crime has shocked thousands of viewers.

After denying his involvement, Ramos seemed to suddenly 'snap' as he suddenly began to reveal the true course of events.

He said to the detectives: "So I got home, I got into an argument with my mom. She slapped me across the face, she began to hit me, she started beating me... I didn't like that."

He then said in an extremely calm manner: "So I strangled her to death. I put her in a wheelbarrow, I put her in my car, I took the car. I had a mental breakdown where I almost committed suicide three times."

Ramos then proceeded to tell the detectives how he 'dropped the wheelbarrow in some random a** location', and then drove back to the church where he began to dig a hole to dispose of his mom's 'decomposing body'.

The teenager insisted to detectives that his crime was based purely on impulse 'out of me getting beaten the s**t out of me'.

In December 2020, Ramos pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, abuse of a body and tampering with evidence.

In January 2021, the 17-year-old was sentenced to 45 years in prison, with the sentence set to be reviewed after 25 years due to him being a minor at the time of sentencing.

Despite Ramos' cold and seemingly remorseless demeanor during his initial confession, Matthew Phillips, Ramos’ public defender, said during court proceedings at the time: "He’s extremely remorseful and he regrets his actions every day.

"And he’s been trying to be productive while he’s been in custody he has been obtaining a high school diploma."
