The terrifying moment a massive crocodile snatched a pet dog from a beach and dragged it underwater was captured on camera.
The large crocodile is estimated to measure five metres and was seen lurking on Napranum beach beach in north Queensland, Australia on Friday (28 April).

Two unsuspecting dogs were resting on the beach when the attack happened.
The dogs were seemingly unaware of the croc behind them but as it drew nearer, one of the dogs noticed and got up. Unfortunately, the other dog was still unaware of the danger it was in and the croc pounced on it, hurling it in the air before taking it back into the water.
The larger of the two dogs can be heard as it runs back up the beach. Not long after, three dogs run down to the edge of the waters.

The State Department of Environment and Science said that the incident is currently being investigated and people are being urged to keep children away from the water.
Johnnina Savo, who claimed that she knew the owners of the dogs, called out the person who filmed the video and posted it on Facebook instead of trying to help the dogs.
“Whoever was recording this video should’ve call up (sic) them puppies when you seen the croc coming instead of sitting there and f*n (sic) recording,” Savo wrote on Facebook.
“Bear was only a pup didn’t know better or know about the dangers of being around that animal!

“But anyway safe around the water’s edge.”
And people on social media have expressed their sadness after viewing the video, with many outraged that people stood and filmed the incident without trying to help the canines get to safety.
“Sick people,” one Facebook user wrote directed to the person who filmed the video.
“That’s horrible,” another social media user declared.

“Should’ve [called] them away when you see that croc,” said another.
While a fourth wrote: “Who the f-ck is the person behind the video and who the f-ck owns the dogs??? I want names sent to my inbox please. I am f***en BOILING over this video.”
In February this year, tourist Alister MacPhee was attacked by a crocodile when he taking a dip in Bloomfield River, Queensland.
While making his way into the water, a crocodile launched at MacPhee, sinking its teeth into his leg.

Fortunately the large reptile let him go, but it then bared its jaws on MacPhee's poor Rottweiler.
Despite MacPhee's best efforts to punch the crocodile to force it to release his dog, the crocodile slipped away.
