Rapper DaBaby Involved In Home Shooting, Sources Say

The incident unfolded on a football field outside of the rapper’s Troutman property

Police have said a person was shot outside of DaBaby’s home, and sources say the rapper was involved.

The incident unfolded on a football field outside of the rapper’s Troutman property on Wednesday, April 13.

Sources told TMZ that DaBaby - real name Jonathan Lyndale Kirk - confronted an intruder and shot him in the leg, before calling 911 and being cooperative with officers when they arrived on the scene.

A 911 call released by WSOC-TV sees a caller say: “I shot him in his leg.”

It is believed DaBaby confronted the intruder and shot him in the leg.

When the dispatchers asks: “OK. And why did you do that?” they reply: “He’s trespassing on my property... I don’t know what he’s here for. What he’s here to take. What he’s here to do. He’s neutralised until you guys get here.”

Screams can be heard in the background as the caller confirms: “He’s right here in front of me.”

The law enforcement source went on to tell TMZ that no arrests have been made as of yet, and all evidence will be handed over to the District Attorney.

Troutman Police Chief Josh Watson did not confirm whether DaBaby was directly involved in the shooting.

However, he did speak about the property, saying: “There’s a significantly tall concrete wall surrounded by, on the other side, a high chain-link fence.

“No, it’s like any other property owner, he’s entitled to his rights to secure their property and make sure nobody comes in.”

Investigators told WSOC-TV that there are several no trespassing signs around the mansion.

The 30-year-old rapper moved into the 11,000-square-foot mansion, which sits on 8.5 acres of land around 50 miles north of Charlotte, back in 2019.

Speaking to the news outlet, Troutman resident Anthony McCullah said: “That much property being in Troutman, you just got to be a fool to touch DaBaby. You just got to be.”

In 2018, DaBaby was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting at a Walmart in North Carolina.

A man was shot and killed in the incident but DaBaby insisted he never pulled the trigger, and was later charged with a misdemeanor for carrying a concealed weapon.
