While details surrounding the highly anticipated Avengers 4 are being kept tightly under wraps tiny bits of information has started to trickle through. The latest surrounds the return of one Guardian of the Galaxy in particular.
Dave Bautista, who plays Drax The Destroyer, has confirmed his character will be back for the next Avengers film, the still as yet untitled follow up to Infinity War.
It’s quite an interesting reveal as Drax’s fate, along with many other MCU characters, appeared to be sealed at the end of the last instalment.
Obviously – spoiler warning – if you happen to be one of the few individuals who STILL hasn’t seen the biggest film of the year I have nothing but utter contempt for you.
Why are you even on this article?!? Get out of here!
For those of you left, I can only assume you’ve watched Avengers: Infinity War and know that Drax was one of the many characters to bite the proverbial dust when Thanos completed his mad plan to wipe out half of existence.
One would assume Drax is not coming back but according to Bautista, he’ll be returning for his revenge in next year’s major MCU crossover.
In an interview with Collider, the former WWE wrestler-turned-actor said:
I got a lot of texts saying, ‘I can’t believe you’re dead, your character is dead.’ They were really like heartbroken and I was like ‘I’m gonna be in four. I’m gonna be in Guardians 3.’
I don’t know how they’re bringing me back, yeah but somehow I’m going to make it because, as far as I know, I am going to be in Guardians 3, so I have to be back.
While Marvel Studios and Disney employ a strict NDA for its cast and crew, Bautista doesn’t think his spoiler will bite him in the ass. Besides, have you seen the size of him? Imagine having to be the film executive who has to tell him ‘you’re fired’ because he broke the rules.
Big Dave went on to say:
That’s the only reason I’m not so concerned about giving any spoilers or giving anything away that Marvel would be mad because I said before, before the film even came out, that I’ve already filmed three and four, so I hope they won’t be p****d!
And if they are, I’m gonna get an earful. I don’t know how they’re gonna put this all together. I don’t know how its gonna pan out and how it’s all going to turn out.
