Dog With Nose And Ears Cut Off By Owner Rescued

A Rottweiler was rescued in Detroit on Tuesday after its ears and nose had been horrifyingly cut off by some unknown abusers.
Michigan Humane society, who was called to the tragic scene, is offering a $32,000 reward for information on how the dog, named Baron, was mutilated and abandoned.
The brown Rotweiler mix was rushed to MHS’ Mackey Center for Animal Care in Detroit and is being treated by the shelter’s veterinarian staff.
Because the support from the public has been so substantial, the charity were able to increase the reward from $2,500 ‘for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for brutally disfiguring a brown and tan Rottweiler found near Livernois and Warren on Detroit’s southwest side’.
Mark Ramos, one of MHS’ lead cruelty investigators, said:
It appears that someone purposely maimed this poor dog, which has caused it a great deal of suffering.
This kind of cruelty is unacceptable. We need to be a voice for these animals and as a community we need to speak through our strong actions to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
Many people on Facebook have offered to adopt Baron, with one writing:
My family’s application is in to bring Baron to our home. We have lots of room for him to romp and play, experience with special needs pups, and love to last him a lifetime. Fingers crossed that he becomes my fur-kid!
They urge anyone with any information to call the MHS hotline now at (313) 872-3401 to ‘help us find the person responsible. This animal deserves justice’.
