We know that the Fast and the Furious films have been mad for a while now but the teaser for Fast 8: Fate of The Furious is just crazytown bananapants.
The movie centres on Dom (Vin Diesel) who, after another successful heist, turns evil betraying his beloved family and getting Luke Hobbs (Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson) locked up with returning bad guy Ian Shaw (Jason Statham).
It’s going to take more than a bucket of Coronas to fix this problem as Dom’s fall to the dark side seems to have been caused by a mysterious woman, played by Academy Award winner Charlize Theron, who seduces our petrol headed hero.
In their quest to bring Dom home, the family will travel to Cuba, New York City and even the arctic Barents Sea, ruining the morning commute for everyone with their tanks, mini-guns and explosions.
Does anyone remember when these films were just about street racing?
To be fair to the trailer it does look pretty awesome, with Hobbs and Shaw teaming up to escape prison, a submarine chasing the crew, and a good old fashioned duel between Dom’s car and the rest of the gang being the highlights.
Helen Mirren and Scott Eastwood join regular cast members Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky and Kurt Russell.
Action escalation aside we’re betting that Dom’s got a good reason for turning on his family, or at least we hope he has. I couldn’t cope with evil Dom.
Fast & Furious 8 opens in cinemas on April 14, 2017.
