Donald Trump Says He Threatened Putin Like He Had 'Never Been Threatened Before'

The former POTUS also claimed that Putin was a big fan of using 'The N-Word'

Donald Trump’s explosive interview with Piers Morgan has now aired, and in predictable fashion, the former US president is full of the bluster and bravado we’ve all come to expect.

During the much-hyped interview, Morgan and Trump discuss many of the former POTUS’s favourite topics, including Vladimir Putin, Meghan and Harry and his 'pathological' fixation on the 2020 election, which he maintains was stolen from him.

Regarding Putin and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Morgan asked Trump why he has been so 'praiseworthy' of Putin in the past given the oligarch’s long history of authoritative behaviour.

Trump had previously described Russia's leader as a 'genius' and 'a peacemaker'.

However, Trump claimed that these comments were instead 'fake news', and that he in fact 'threatened him like he’s never been threatened before', he tells Morgan.

“We have a war that would have never happened if I was president," he claimed.

When asked by Morgan if he thought that Trump was a 'genocidal monster', he said: “Of course I do, sure, who wouldn’t?”

He then claimed that Putin only launched his attack upon Ukraine because Joe Biden was president, adding: “Isn’t it a shame, all those people dead because of a rigged election?”

Regarding Biden, Trump also suggested that his successor’s withdrawal from Afghanistan was a major motivating factor in Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine, stating: “When they saw the way we acted in Afghanistan, they way we ran, surrendered…He [Putin] said, ‘hey, this is no longer Trump’.”

Elsewhere during their chat, Morgan asked Trump about Putin. "Putin uses the ‘N word’. I call it the ‘N word’. He uses the ‘N word’, the nuclear word all the time," he said.

"That's a no-no, you're not supposed to do that. He uses it on a daily basis. And everybody's so afraid, so afraid, so afraid.

"And as they're afraid, he uses it more and more. That's why he's doing the kind of things he's doing right now. He's doing them because he thinks... nobody's gonna ever attack us, because they're all stupid, and they're afraid to talk."

Morgan asked Trump what he'd do if he was still in power. "Instead of [US President Joe] Biden saying, ‘Oh, he's got nuclear weapons’, he keeps saying, 'He's got nukes'.

"We have better weapons, we have the greatest submarine power in history... I would say, we have far more than you do. Far, far more powerful than you."

"And you can't use that word ever again. You cannot use the nuclear word ever again. And if you do, we're gonna have problems."

The interview aired the same day that Trump was issued a $10,000 fine by a New York judge after being found to be in contempt of court following his refusal to hand over documents to prosecutors investigating his business practices.
