Donald Trump Reclarifies His Position On Banning Muslims From U.S.

In December, Donald Trump left most rational thinkers absolutely gobsmacked when he called for a blanket ban on Muslims entering the U.S.

However, it would now appear that even Donald has realised such a policy is unfeasible – although he probably still doesn’t care that it’s hideously prejudicial.

The business mogul has now backtracked and called the policy a mere ‘suggestion’.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Trump told Fox News:

We have a serious problem, and it’s a temporary ban. It hasn’t been called for yet. Nobody’s done it. This is just a suggestion until we find out what’s going on.

It was temporary. Sure I’d back off on it. I’d like to back off it as soon as possible.

The new stance is a far cry from the state sponsored racial profiling Trump ‘suggested’ back in December.

He also added that, during the implementation of the awful policy, Muslim members of the military would be allowed home… sort of:

[Muslim military personnel] would all come back. I mean, we have exceptions, and again, it’s temporary, and ultimately it’s my aim to have it lifted. Right now there is no ban. But I’d like to see – there has to be an idea. There has to be something.

Ideally you wouldn’t have the ban for very long. I mean, we just have to find out what’s happening.

The Republican Presidential candidate-to-be is slowly taking steps back toward the political middle-ground then.

It’s almost like banning travel based on people’s heritage, or erecting giant walls supposedly funded by the nations they are intended to keep out, are completely ludricous ideas – who’d have though, hey?
