Dramatic Fight After Murder Suspect Grabs Cop’s Gun In ‘Suicide Attempt’
Dramatic footage has emerged of the moment a murder suspect tried to grab a police officer’s gun in an apparent suicide attempt.
The footage, shared on LiveLeak, shows 23-year-old Thomas Robinson waiting to be questioned over the shooting of Joseph Reno Armstrong Jr, 17, reports the Daily Mail.
In the clip, Robinson is handcuffed to a chair before officer James Ball comes in to remove his restraints.
As Ball leans down to uncuff Robinson’s left hand, Robinson glances over, noticing the officer’s gun is open to him.
Robinson then lunges and grabs the firearm, appearing to shout ‘Kill me! Kill me!’ as the two men struggle over the weapon.
Other cops rush into the room with one pulling out a taser and firing it into Robinson’s back – with little effect.
As the struggle continues, another officer rushes in and hits Robinson in the chest with another taser, sending him to the floor with the chair – still handcuffed to his wrist – landing on top of him.
According to Cincinatti.com Robinson has been charged with murder and assaulting a police officer.
Armstrong Jr was found dead by Cincinnati Police on along with another individual who had suffered a gunshot wound.
