Drew Barrymore has been branded a racist by an angry TikTok user after she posted a video of her dancing in the rain and encouraged her fans to do the same.
Social media users have been left outraged after one TikTok user branded Drew Barrymore a racist for dancing in the rain.
The TikTok user, who goes by @amushroomblackly on the popular social media site, shared her opinion on Barrymore's content.

Barrymore was labeled as a 'coloniser' after the content creator compared the actor's video to an earlier trend that saw black creators 'frolicking' outside.
The video in question was posted on Barrymore's TikTok, where she can be seen smiling as she walks through the rain. She then tells her 6.5 millions followers: "Whenever you can, go out into the rain. Do not miss the opportunity."
Despite Barrymore sharing a seemingly innocent video, amushroomblackly criticised the actor in a response video.

She said: "You and I both know you are capable of enjoying the rain, frolicking freely, without filming it and posting it to TikTok."
The creator then went on to explain that Barrymore 'cosigned people who just go out of their way to disrespect and dismiss the boundaries that black creators have set.'
But it appears that she is alone in her views, as social media users hit back against the accusation that the actor is racist.
After the bizarre response was posted to Twitter, users were quick to jump to Barrymore's defence.
One user wrote: "I have watched this video 6 times could someone please explain to me why it's racist."

Another person added: "I don’t get it at all. What’s wrong with her frolicking in the rain???"
And a third user said: "So confused. Frolicking in the rain is disrespecting Black people."
The pool of confusion prompted amushroomblackly to upload a series of videos explaining her reasoning further, but it appears even this was not enough to convince people that Barrymore is a racist.
In one video, she claimed that Barrymore's video "opened the floodgates for people who disrespect Black creators."

Back in May, a TikTok trend saw Black men frolicking outside, sometimes in the rain. The TikTok user claims that Barrymore culturally appropriated from Black creators, although there is no evidence to suggest this to be the case.
Social media users have hit back at the radical explanation, with many stating that frolicking in the rain is not exclusive to Black people.
One user said: "This has gotta be the first time I’ve witnessed somebody gatekeep the enjoyment of weather. What the hell???"
Another wrote: "WHYS SHE CALLING SOME RACIST FOR ENJOYING RAIN, YOU CAN’T GATEKEEP WEATHER."

However, Barrymore's critic is holding firm in her views and stated: "When we say it's racist, it's racist."
Barrymore first shared a video of her frolicking in the rain in May and then again in July.
The actor has not responded to the allegations.
