Ed Sheeran Planning To Work In Charity Shop During His Month Off

Musician Ed Sheeran is reportedly planning a dramatic career change – for a month anyway.

The Grammy Award winner is already known for giving the shirt off his back to charity shops, and now he’s apparently going one step further, planning to volunteer with a Sue Ryder charity shop in his hometown of Framlingham, Suffolk, during a month-long break from music.

Speaking to the Mirror, the shop’s manager Jacqui Bell said:

There’s a good possibility he will volunteer here. We’d welcome him. My volunteers, who are aged between 61 and 91, know Ed because he was brought up in the town. They would be fine working with him.

Ed Sheeran is doing pretty well for himself, what with a successful career, selling out Wembley (three times) and all those popstar bezzie mates, but the Brit clearly hasn’t forgotten his roots.

Earlier this year, Ed donated eight items of clothing worn at the Grammy Awards to the Elizabeth Hospice charity shop. He did the same in 2014, and is expected to donate another wardrobe of clothes to Sue Ryder and a charity shop for St Elizabeth Hospice soon. What a nice guy!

The 24-year-old is also now said to be in discussions to set up a new youth centre in the town because he claims it was the old youth club which got him started in music.

Jacqui added:

He purchased the old police station to open up a youth club for £1 million, so he’ll also be helping there when it’s up and running. I think he will draw the youngsters into our shop which would be good for us.

We have a feeling that this particular charity shop is going to be pretty busy when Ed is behind the counter!
